Marine Biology and Fisheries  

Marine Biology and Fisheries division focuses its efforts in a wide range of field, laboratory, and theoretical research with particular interest in areas such as the biochemistry of marine toxins, coral reef studies, biological oceanography and marine biology, fisheries biology and aquaculture, and the biology and behavior of marine vertebrates.  Through various Rosenstiel School research centers and facilities, including, the National Science Foundation/National Institute of Environmental Health Science Oceans and Human Health Center, the Experimental Hatchery, the world-renowned NIH/University of Miami National Resource for Aplysia facility, and many others, division faculty, students, and their many international collaborators participate in multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary, and cross-divisional programs.

RSMAS Library offers workshops and training sessions to help you meet your research needs. Classes are interactive and participants are encouraged to ask questions.  All workshops are held in the RSMAS Library Map & Chart Room, SLAB 160, unless otherwise noted.  Session times will be posted on NOTICE listserv.

Exploring RSMAS Resources

This information session is designed to orient and familiarize new and returning students to the RSMAS Library and to the available resources and services.

RefWorks: Bibliographic Management

This session will explain the ins and outs of RefWorks, a tool that enables users to create easily searchable “libraries” of citations and format bibliographies in any format with only a couple clicks of the mouse. You’ll learn all you need to get started.

SCOPUS: Refine your Research

This overview will cover using smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research. Also, using Scopus citation analysis to find the newest research, to identify potential research collaborators, and reseach impact across a community. Come in for the class and we will take it for a spin.
